Profile

A highly motivated IT and telecoms professional with a sound knowledge of business and customer service, and well developed technical and administrative skills gained working within large and SMEs.  Used to working under pressure, on projects and delivering to tight deadlines.  In addition, can manage and maintain own schedule.

 

Achievements

·         Developing a reporting and monitoring schedule which elevated Bechtel to amongst the highest performing teams for Vodafone Project IVOR

·         Creating a site list to show all 3G live sites on the Vodafone network, gathering data from several sources and liaising with other team members to meet their needs

Employed on the recommendation of the Project Controller (former Bechtel work colleague) and have worked at several offices:

 

·         Evenflow (Omnix) support and administration - the day to day maintenance and updating of data within the Vodafone Evenflow system, including raising new Network Requirements for the project, initiating active plans and updating workflow dates

·         Reporting - general Microsoft Excel support, running and creating Business Objects reports for senior management (including for BT transmission links), running checks and comparisons

·         Raising Clarify cases plus raising and receipting sales orders and purchase orders for hardware kit within Oracle

·         Liaising with Ericsson/Alan Dick to ensure their team know their requirements within Evenflow and reports within Business Objects

·         Training other members of the team on Vodafone’s systems and Microsoft Excel

·         Basic IT support within the project team

This is a temporary contract where I was invited back, having previously worked for Bechtel in November 2003.

 

·         Data extraction, cleansing, comparison and clarification

·         Redesign of analysis tables giving greater clarity when producing progress updates, and enabling data to be updated more easily

·         Migration of data in preparation for software integration to the main Vodafone database, Evenflow.

·         Redesigned Bechtel’s database forms via their web-based database, ePM

·         Generated reports for senior management with Business Objects

The Bitmap Brothers

Initially employed, on the recommendation of the Lead Designer (a former GT and Warner Interactive work colleague), to construct and promote a new corporate website (www.bitmap-brothers.co.uk).

·         Redesigned, coded and implemented a new corporate website

·         Maintained the information flow on the site to serve customer support, requests for information and press information

·         Officially promoted in March 2001, having organically grown the initial Webmaster role and incrementally accepted additional responsibilities

·         Supported the Technical Manager in building PCs, maintaining the network, e-mail administration, taking back-ups, maintaining anti-virus software and providing on-site hands on support for all computer hardware and software (Windows 98 – XP, Windows 2000 Server and Exchange 2000)

·         Improved internal IT response times through accepting role of 1st line support – reducing business interruption (Technical Manager only available at the office once per week)

·         Specified, designed and built an Access database to control the bug resolution and management of games support.  The database dramatically improved the quality of data held, and by improving the user interface more accurate reporting data was produced more quickly

·         Migrated paper-based accounts system to Sage accounting software

·         Designated responsible for maintaining the fabric and day-to-day management of the office environment

·         Overhauled network filing structure

·         Encrypted and applied Safedisc protection to secure game code

Infogrames (formerly GT Interactive Europe and previously Warner Interactive)

 

Initially joined Warner Interactive as a Junior Tester.  Grew with the Company through two changes of ownership until the QA department was centralised in Sheffield.

Code Supervisor (Infogrames), Lead Tester (GT Interactive Europe) and Junior Tester (Warner Interactive)

·         Code Supervisor position (promotion) created specifically by the Company based on the model used in the US operation

·         Deputised for both the QA Manager and Assistant QA Manager during their absence

·         Acted as lead tester on a number of game titles, organising the workload of 4/5 members of staff and coordinating the testing areas

·         Extensively tested games for functionality, compatibility, continuity and quality plus ensured compliance with Sony and Nintendo industry standard checks

·         Assisted in the planning and physical relocation of the hardware and telecoms between office relocations

·         Created and maintained record keeping system to monitor the release of code both internally and externally to marketing agencies, publications, international offices etc.

·         Maintained the Microsoft Access bug databases and allocated status levels to detected bugs to ensure prioritisation in line with release criteria

·         Proofread manuals to ensure relevance to the software plus reorganised and maintained a customer contact database
